A touch of brass and all sorts of class

Brass hardware has become increasingly popular styled kitchens this season. This warm and welcoming kitchen brings a hint of both colour and glamour to an otherwise simple design, without being too overpowering. Brass finishes can be implemented anywhere from adding quaint accessories, handles to light fixtures and even appliances.

Keep it traditional with Shaker

The shaker style kitchen has recently become a popular choice for kitchen cabinetry. This is because although it is a traditional style, it is a classic way to add detail and interest without being over the top. Shaker style kitchens are also extremely versatile for creating any style of kitchen ranging from contemporary to traditional.

Cook up a storm with dark moody kitchen colours

Gone are the days where everyone would play it safe with colour by only implementing neutral colours in their kitchen design. Although we are not seeing people choose bright and bold colours, we are however seeing more darker tones such as charcoal, navy blue and moss green. This is a great way to keep your kitchen neutral and timeless but still having an interesting statement feature in your house. Coupled with natural benchtops such as stone or wood, this colour scheme can be a unique feature that will boost your property value.

Open Shelving

Open shelving has become in trend once again, as it makes for a great point of interest in a kitchen. By having extra space to accessorise and decorate, you can change the look and feel of your kitchen more frequently.

Statement Splashbacks

There has been a resurgence in the statement splashbacks, especially with wall tile. Tiles that either create an eye catching pattern or an understated textured finish, have been on the rise. This is great if your kitchen has a neutral palette and you don’t want it to appear bland.

Unique Seating Options

Switching up the seating in your kitchen area can give the impression that you tailor-made your kitchen design to fit perfectly with your space. This is great if you’re after a unique kitchen that no one else has. Some popular designs are booth-style seating, window seat dining and breakfast bars.

Rustic Finishes

Sleek, shiny finishes are out and it’s all about the rustic feel. Exposed shelving, wooden finishes and patterns are seeing a comeback in the kitchens. Incorporating patterned tiles and woven rugs are great for adding a boho aesthetic in kitchens. We’re seeing a range of these styles, which can vary from mild to extreme.
