Coming Home
Step inside this light, bright kitchen and you’ll feel as if you’re coming home. This design from Nobby Kitchens is undeniably contemporary, yet it feels familiar and comfortable, helping to make this room the perfect place to congregate and share a meal after a long day.
This is in part due to the open-plan design. Nobby Kitchens was employed to give the area an open feel, integrating the kitchen space with the living and dining areas. This offers a more social kitchen experience.
Marrying the separate areas of the house was not without complications. The living/family room was sunken, so a dual-height bench was required. The result is a subtle visual cue that adds detailing while still complementing the streamlined feel of the space.
Clear work zones were designed to enable optimal ease of use throughout the entire kitchen. The old built-in pantry was removed and a new scullery area was created in the laundry, where large appliances are now kept.
White Shaker-style cabinetry keeps the room feeling bright, with extra lighting adding illumination in the pantry. This light colour scheme also adds to the sense of spaciousness in the room, which is further enhanced by the bifold appliance cupboard that keeps the benchtop clutter-free.
